Secret #1: "Have a mind that is open to everything and attached to nothing!" by Dr. Wayne Dyer Secrets for Success and Inner Peace
Is this trully possible? We are all attached to something, right?! Be it our friends, family, political affiliation, religion, education, cultural background, social status...take your pick. There are many out there!
It WOULD be a beautiful thing to have an open mind, don't you think?
What would it be like if we didn't have prejudices?
If we just accepted things without hesitation?
If we accepted people for who they are and not who we want them to be?!
As parents we always want more out of our children (better grades, better attitude, cleaner room). As managers we want more from our employees (more sales, better customer service). As employees we want more out of our corporation (better communication, more money, more flexibility). As a spouse you want more from your significant other (more PDA's, more quality time, or a simple "I love you!").
So is that having an open mind or are these ideas embedded from our upbringing? Can we TRULLY have an open mind and attached to nothing?
Can we move from our past experiences and just accept?
Do we accept and tolerate...or do we just accept without limitations?
So, back to the 1st secret: " Have a mind that is open to everything and attached to nothing." Can we want more but with restricitons?
Fortunately we were all raised by someone. Someone protected us, fed us, gave us shelter and molded us. And although some had really good childhoods and others had unspeakable challenges, we "evolved".
Bottomline: Accept those for who they are, where they are in life and where they want to be! Be patient and tolerant with their challenges by giving a hand.
When was the last time you helped someone up... instead of knocking them down
